Project Reveal: Tour This Turn of the Century Classic Colonial

Raymond Street Remodel
Location: Rockville Centre, NY

When we took on the project of today’s home tour, we embarked on a mission to custom-design every aspect, from door styles to curved walnut cabinetry, all while preserving the original character and charm of this 1913 classic Colonial in Rockville Centre, NY. With a touch of design magic, this home is as functional as it is charming, making it the perfect family home.

Elevated Old & New in the Kitchen

The kitchen showcases a perfect blend of old and new, creating an elevated and cohesive look. Mixed wood tones, brass detailing, and vintage-inspired appliances give the space a timeless appeal. We collaborated with a local woodworker to craft custom walnut cabinets that maximize the kitchen’s compact space. A unique curved end detail on one side of the cabinetry provides seamless access to the stairs, illustrating the thoughtful integration of design and functionality.

Custom Kitchen Details

Details like a walnut hood range, a brass pot filler, and hand-formed tiles add warmth and character to the heart of the home. Instead of a walk-in pantry, we opted for a built-in storage pantry cabinet, which maximizes space and offers ample storage for the homeowners.

Clever Storage Solutions

In a compact home, maximizing space is crucial. We ensured that functionality meets aesthetics in perfect harmony through innovative storage solutions. By cleverly utilizing every inch, we made sure that the home's charm was never compromised for practicality.

Cozy Layers in The Living Room

The living room exudes comfort with two sofas in contrasting upholstery materials, balanced by a large wooden coffee table ideal for displaying favorite reads and holding daily essentials. A mix of layered lighting, textiles, and accessories brings the room to life, reflecting the clients’ stories and adding depth to the space.

A Moody Mudroom

The mudroom features cloudy wallpaper that beautifully complements the moody cabinetry color. Designed for hanging coats, storing boots, and stowing everyday necessities, this space is both practical and stylish. A gold-rimmed flush mount light fixture adds warmth and ties in with the cabinetry hardware, while herringbone tile introduces a touch of charm and interest.

Final Thoughts

Our thoughtful design process has transformed this turn-of-the-century Colonial in Rockville Centre into a home that seamlessly blends modern functionality with timeless charm. Each room tells a story, making this house not just a place to live, but a place to love.
