Maplewood, NJ
Project Reveal

Hi Friends!

I am over-the-moon excited to share our Maplewood Classic Colonial project with you! There is so much beauty to swoon over, we will be revealing the project in two parts. Today we will be showcasing the Kitchen, Dining Room, and the beautiful grand entryway.

I am so proud of how we turned this classic colonial into a timeless, sun-filled retreat for my clients and their growing family! We finished this project moments before lockdown and the timing couldn't have been better!

The vibe of the house is timeless, curated, sun-filled, and tranquil. We used a dreamy color story of grays, creams, blues, and blacks throughout the space to tie each room on the ground floor together. We also used a mixture of metals and natural materials throughout the design to add eclectic elements to the design and make the whole home feel thoughtful, layered and connected.

In the entryway, we wanted to create a serious 'wow' moment. We wanted this space to feel open, airy, and super functional. We used the wood and marble console table to create a beautiful moment when you walk in the door, that can be utilized as a 'catch-all' by the whole family — you can't beat that stunning staircase backdrop!

The dining room is one of my favorite spaces in the whole home. I love the way the cased opening frames the room from the entry — It is a serious showstopper! I also love how the light floods into this room and makes the white linen drapes look so dreamy!

We used a large farmhouse-style, wood table as the focal point in the room and a beautiful brass lantern chandelier above. The table is over 8' long and feels substantial in the room. We used gray linen host chairs at the head of the table to contrast the warm brown tones in the table and bistro chairs.

The room as a whole is beautiful, but the details are what make the room so special and unique. The brass bar cart adds some modern whimsy to the room and the beautiful photograph above was an original print taken by the homeowner's father!

The sideboard is fitted with antiqued class in a chevron pattern, adding texture and pattern to the room in a subtle way and the pampas grass on top brings in the organic elements that tie each room together.

This kitchen is truly the heart of this home and a real stunner! The brass elements in the light fixtures and appliances make this white and bright kitchen feel unique, modern, and joyful! The lantern-style pendants tie in the lighting in the dining room and are a real focal point in the kitchen. This is truly a happy kitchen to be in!

The quartz countertops have the perfect light gray veining and will stand the test of time along side the showstopping Cafe appliances, and woven barstools.
